It’s racing like the good old days – and we hope our festival showcases motorsport in all of its glory.
We’re hoping to create something new and different: the George Begg Festival is an exciting opportunity not just for the Southland region, but for Kiwi motorsport.
Our festival will take what you love about motorsport events, and share it with a broad audience – some of whom mightn’t have ever been to motorsport before.
As well as our three days of classic racing, with interesting classes and NZ icons on the track, your Track Pass will give you access to:
- Free Kids Zone (with man-made beach, retro beach huts, arts and crafts, facepainting, and more)
- Food and beverage zone with stalls from local vendors + Begg’s Bar (equipped with infrastructure for our headliners The Beat Girls, our Trends On The Track catwalk competition, and other entertainment; not to mention our nostalgic Pimms cart)
- Retail precinct
- Heaps of on-track demos (including a pedal car race for kids, motorbike race, Feel The Noise demo and more)
As proud Southlanders, we’re hoping to encourage visitors from all over to visit the south: adding another event to Invercargill’s calendar that benefits all of our city’s accommodation providers, hospitality operators and more.
We’d love to create the Kiwi version of the Goodwood Revival, and we hope to see you there!
